The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has ordained 5,000 new ministers during the 2025 Global Ministers Conference, which concluded on Sunday.
The three-day gathering, themed “The Message, the Messenger, and the Power,” commenced on Friday and featured intensive teachings, breakout sessions, and the ordination service.
In his address, Dr. Olukoya underscored the necessity of spiritual mentorship and divine endorsement, cautioning ministers against rebellion, carelessness, and self-appointment.
“Many lack access to God’s true motivation and so develop a rebellious spirit,” he said. “Ministers must walk in holiness, integrity, loyalty, and humility. The first rule in the school of the anointed is that God Himself must recommend you—not rebellion, not ambition, not self-promotion. Only God has power, and if He is not behind your calling, your efforts will amount to nothing. But if God is with you, joy will follow.”
Using biblical examples, he reminded the ministers that “there can be no Joshua without Moses, no Elisha without Elijah.” He further urged them to be true shepherds rather than exploiters of their flock, saying, “Shepherds who terrorise their sheep cannot succeed. Be diligent. This is God’s work, not man’s.”
Dr. Olukoya also prayed for the newly ordained leaders, warning them not to fall away after their commissioning. According to him, failure in ministry is rarely due to lack of talent or charisma but to neglect of holiness, humility, and obedience. “I congratulate you. God bless you in Jesus’ name,” he concluded.
Throughout the conference, the MFM General Overseer addressed weighty leadership subjects such as “100 Pastor Killers,” “100 Mistakes Pastors and Leaders Make,” “50 Characteristics of Pastors Who Finished Well,” and “Ministry Versus Ethics Bondage.”
His wife, Pastor Shade Olukoya, spoke on “The Role of Women in God’s Army,” urging female ministers to embrace their unique roles in advancing the gospel and to rise above limitations.
Other speakers included Prof. Albert Oikelome, Head of the Music Department at the University of Lagos, who lectured on music appreciation. He advised church leaders to view music as a vital arm of ministry rather than mere entertainment, stressing its power to create an atmosphere for God’s presence and evangelism. “Every branch should invest in its music department,” he said.
The conference also incorporated health talks, medical checks, and deliverance prayer sessions.
In closing, Dr. Olukoya expressed gratitude to the organising team and commended the efforts of key leaders, including Pastors Abiodun Ladejola and Clement Imoru, who coordinated the ordination programme.
