Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who was initially reported to have died of a heart attack on July 24, 2025, may in fact have been the victim of medical malpractice, according to a new report from TMZ.
Citing police sources and family members, the outlet revealed that an occupational therapist present at Hogan’s Clearwater, Florida, residence suggested a surgeon may have accidentally severed the phrenic nerve—a critical nerve that controls breathing—during a recent medical procedure.
Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, confirmed to TMZ Sports that her late husband’s phrenic nerve had been “compromised” in surgery. She noted that an autopsy has already been performed but declined to share the findings, saying only: “I’m not at liberty to release those details at this time.” She also added that Hogan’s body has not yet been cremated.
Meanwhile, Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, has publicly questioned the official narrative of her father’s passing. In an Instagram post, she claimed to have received calls from professionals—including police officers and nurses allegedly present on the day of Hogan’s death—urging her to obtain body camera footage and the 911 call records, which they suggested could “change the narrative.”
Brooke further expressed frustration over her lack of access to these materials, writing that control over the records lies solely with her stepmother, Sky Daily.
The Clearwater Police Department has yet to release an official statement regarding the allegations or the progress of its investigation. However, the emerging claims have cast new uncertainty over the circumstances of Hogan’s death and intensified demands for greater transparency.
